Cookie Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

This is a translation of the Italian text, which prevails in case of discrepancy. Read the Italian version.

This Cookie Policy has been drawn up in accordance with the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) of 10 June 2021 on cookies and other tracking tools, and with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), and describes in detail the cookies and similar technologies used by the website bruumers.it.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that the websites you visit send to your device, where they are stored and then sent back to the same websites on your next visit. They can be set by the owner of the website you are visiting (“first-party” cookies) or by other parties (“third-party” cookies).

Similar technologies, such as web beacons, pixel tags and local storage, can be used to collect information about users' behaviour and how they use services.

2. Types of cookies used

The Italian Data Protection Authority divides cookies into two broad categories: technical cookies and profiling cookies. The Site uses only technical cookies and third-party analytics cookies (with prior consent). Advertising profiling cookies are never used.

2.1 Technical cookies (no consent required)

These are the cookies that are strictly necessary for the Site to work properly or to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. No consent is required for them, under Art. 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003.

They include the sign-in cookie of the Members' Area, which is set only for members of the group who sign in and keeps them signed in; anyone who does not enter the Members' Area does not receive it.

The two values that the Site saves in the browser's localStorage for the language (lingua and lingua-avviso, see the table) are also technical: the language chosen with the IT · EN switch, and the fact that the notice offering the Site in the other language has been closed. They stay on the device and are not sent to any server. The notice appears to people whose browser is set to another language: the Site works this out by reading the preferred language in the browser itself, without saving or sending it. When switching from one language to the other (the language-switch animation and the links that open the other version just once), the Site also uses the sessionStorage for a moment (lingua-transizione, lingua-una-volta): the value is deleted as soon as the next page opens, and in any case when the tab is closed.

2.2 Third-party analytics cookies (consent required)

These cookies are used to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and on how they visit the Site, in order to produce general statistics. Because the data are collected and sent to a third party (Google), these cookies are treated in the same way as profiling cookies and require the user's explicit consent.

3. Detailed list of cookies

Name Type Provider Purpose Duration
cookie-consent Technical (localStorage) bruumers.it Stores the user's choice about consent to cookies (accepted/rejected) 6 months
lingua Technical (localStorage) bruumers.it Remembers the language chosen for the Site (it or en), with the IT · EN switch or from the notice offering the other language; not sent to any server Until the user changes language or clears the site's data
lingua-avviso Technical (localStorage) bruumers.it Remembers that the user has closed the notice offering the Site in the other language (“This site is also available in English”), so that it is not shown again; not sent to any server Until the user clears the site's data
bruumers_area Technical (sign-in cookie) The Bruumers (portal.bruumers.it) Keeps the user signed in to the Members' Area after login; set only for those who sign in, cannot be read by the page's scripts (HttpOnly) and is sent only over an encrypted connection 30 days from last use; deleted by “Sign out”
_ga Third-party analytics Google Analytics Distinguishes unique users by assigning a random identifier 2 years
_ga_DH4J42K0JE Third-party analytics Google Analytics 4 Maintains the session state for the specific GA4 property 2 years
_gid Third-party analytics Google Analytics Distinguishes users for statistics on the most recent session 24 hours

The names of Google Analytics cookies may vary depending on how the property is configured; the list shows the most common cookies set by the service.

4. Third-party services that may set cookies

Some components of the Site are provided by third parties which, in order to work, may set technical cookies or collect browsing data independently. Because of the technical nature of these services, it is not always possible to block them in advance; we invite you to read the privacy policies of the respective providers.

  • Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.) — loading web fonts. Privacy Policy.
  • Font Awesome (cdnjs) (Cloudflare, Inc.) — loading icons. Privacy Policy.
  • Leaflet + OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation) — interactive maps in the “Trips” section. Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.) — hosting of the Site. Privacy Policy.

5. How to give, change or withdraw consent

On your first visit to the Site, a cookie banner is shown that lets you:

  • Accept all cookies, including third-party analytics cookies;
  • Reject all cookies that are not strictly necessary (only technical cookies will be used);
  • Close the banner with the “X” without giving any consent: in this case no analytics cookies will be set and the banner will be shown again on your next visit.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the button below, which reopens the banner:

In accordance with the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority, your cookie choice is kept for a maximum of 6 months: after this period the banner will be shown again automatically.

6. How to manage cookies from your browser

In addition to the Site's own tools, you can manage or disable cookies directly from your browser settings. Below are links to the official guides for the most widely used browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Opera

To specifically disable data collection by Google Analytics on all websites, you can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

7. Transfer of data outside the EU

Using Google Analytics involves transferring personal data (including the IP address and the browsing identifier) to servers that may be located outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States of America. These transfers take place on the basis of the safeguards set out in section 6 of the Privacy Policy.

8. Data controller and contact details

The controller of the data collected through first-party cookies is Francesco Accardi, contact person for the group The Bruumers — Professional Riders.

  • Email: accardifrancesco@hotmail.it
  • Instagram (DM): @bruumers

9. Updates to this Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy may be changed to reflect changes in the law or in how the group is organised. The updated version will always be published on this page, showing the date of the last update. We recommend checking it from time to time.

For more information on how personal data are processed, see the Privacy Policy.
